How long have you been a teacher? 20 years
How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach? This is my 2nd year teaching ESOL at SJHS
What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? I had some really great teachers growing up that I still remember dearly. I want to be that kind of teacher for my students.
What was your reaction to winning the award? So humbled that so many students voted for me.
What was the reaction of your class? Thrilled!!!! Truly!
Have you been to Sky Zone before? If so, what was your experience like? Yes, in Mt. Pleasant. We had my daughter’s birthday party there one year. So FUN!
What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? When the students come back to visit. I am lucky because I taught at St. James Elementary School and now those students are here at the high school. Seeing them grow up to be great humans is by far the most rewarding feeling. I’m so honored to have played a small role in their successes.
Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? I love country music concerts, reading on the beach, and going out to dinner.
