Teacher of the Month
Before you plan your next trip to Sky Zone, enjoy getting to know Kasey Knight, our teacher of the month, because you may see her or students at the park.
How long have you been a teacher? This is my 11th year of teaching. I have had the honor of working in Marion County and Horry County. I have taught grades kindergarten – second.
How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach? I have been at Aynor Elementary for a year. I currently teach Kindergarten and absolutely love it!
What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? Growing up I had some really great teachers that went above and beyond to help me see that all things were possible if we try our best and believe in ourselves. I wanted to do that for someone, even if it was only one! What motivates me is the desire these babies have to learn. Watching the world through their eyes and the excitement of learning new things and how things work is so rewarding. I love hearing about their future aspirations and dreams.
What was your reaction to winning the award? I was completely shocked and overwhelmed with excitement! The reason being that my kids got free jump passes and ice cream. It was like Christmas morning. It was such an honor to be thought of.
What was the reaction of your class? My kids were ecstatic! They were so excited to look up Sky Zone and Crazy Mason to see what they won. They could hardly contain their excitement. They were planning their trips together and discussing which part they were going to like the best. They were too cute talking about all the trampolines and foam pit.
Have you been to Sky Zone before? If so, what was your experience like? I have my own babies. We attended a birthday party there not too long ago and had a blast! It was the best day!
What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? I feel like being a teacher is truly one of the best professions. You get to watch kids grow and learn new things each day. I love their curiosity and wonder about the world. I love watching them become the best versions of themselves!
Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? I love to run! Running is a passion of mine. My family and I also love the beach. We try to get there as often as we can. My son and daughter love to build sandcastles and jump the waves.
