Sky Zone Myrtle Beach kicks off each school year with the Teacher of the Month program. The first winner with the most votes is Ms. Elva Taco from Myrtle Beach Middle School.
Teacher of the Month
How long have you been a teacher? This is my 5th year teaching.
How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach? I have been at Myrtle Beach Middle since my first year. I currently teach 6th grade Social Studies!
What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? I had a couple teachers that were such great influences and inspired me to become a teacher as well! As cheesy as it sounds, my students motivate me. I love teaching Social Studies and teaching students about the world!
What was your reaction to winning the award? I was definitely shocked, but I feel extremely grateful for being voted for and can’t wait to enjoy my prize and have my students enjoy theirs as well!
What was the reaction of your class? My students were soooooo excited! One of the students in that class told me she nominated me and voted for me repeatedly! (Thank you Malia!)
Have you been to Sky Zone before? If so, what was your experience like? I have been once before and thought it was so much fun. I can’t wait to go again!
What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? As a teacher, the thing I find the most rewarding is the excitement my students have for the places that we learn about.
Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? Outside of teaching, I love to read, play video games, go to the movies, and spend time with my family and friends!
