2022-23 March Sky Zone Teacher of the Month
Ronald Robinette is a relatively new teacher but it didn’t take long for him to make a significant impact on the children he teaches.
Teacher of the Month
Enjoy getting to know Robinette and a sense for why he was voted Sky Zone’s Teacher of the Month in March.
How long have you been a teacher? I’ve been a full-time teacher for 2 years now.
How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach? I’ve been at my current school since 2020. I spent one year as an intern and long-term substitute teacher before being hired in 2021. I am a 4th grade teacher at Carolina Forest Elementary.
What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? I’ve always had a passion for education, and I love providing my students with that passion every day. Being able to motivate students to be successful and strong minded is what continues to motivate me.
What was your reaction to winning the award? I was surprised and proud! A week or two before you guys came, I also received Rookie Teacher of the year at Carolina Forest Elementary. It was a confirmation that I was doing something right.
What was the reaction of your class? They went nuts!!! They are a super supportive class.
What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? Seeing their little light bulbs light up when they finally understand a new concept. I put in a lot of hard work when teaching my kiddos, so it’s amazing when they grow academically.
Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? Some of my interests outside of the classroom are soccer (favorite team: FC Barcelona), messing around with technology (video recording, photoshop, Cricut, PC building, gaming), crafts/DIY projects, and spending time with my amazing fiancée.
