How long have you been a teacher? This is my first year teaching!

How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach?  I teach fifth grade.

What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? Growing up, I always loved learning and it is so exciting when you can see a new concept click in a child’s head. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was very young, and I love being able to bond with my kids and provide them a home away from home.

What was your reaction to winning the award? I was completely shocked when I won the award. I did not expect it, and I didn’t even know it was a thing! It was a great surprise.

What was the reaction of your class? My class was very excited and grateful for the jump passes and Crazy Mason gift cards.

Have you been to Sky Zone before? If so, what was your experience like? I’ve only been to Sky Zone once and it was for a field trip. It was very fun!

What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? The thing I find most rewarding about being a teacher is building relationships with the students. I love being able to be a safe person for them to go to when they’re going through something, whether it’s something happy, sad, hard, or anything in between.

Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? In my free time, I like going to the beach, reading, and playing with my two dogs!

Anything else you’d like to add?  Thank you so much!!
